What is a Burlesque show?
Our history is rich and colorful. Burlesque started in the 1890’s as a specialty show for theaters all around the country. The show it self is amounted to highly styled costumes and high energy performances with comedy and vaudeville, We specialize in vintage burlesque entertainment with a neo (new) burlesque twist. The Tease always stays classy and entertaining! "You Gotta Get A Gimmick". Now as well as then burlesque was looked at a high-end form of performing art, We style our show as The Roxy Burlesque House that just to stand in Cleveland, Ohio would have there is truly something for every one in these shows.
What is a Burlesque Performer?
Traditional burlesque performers "shimmy-shacked" their bodies to a jazz beat in theaters. Their costuming was elegant and elaborate from head to toe and well put together. The way they removed their clothing piece by piece kept the audience on the edge. The art of burlesque helps performers to connect with audiences watching the show; anything from comedy to sexiness is welcome on the stage. The “Golden Days” are still alive and well and with a good burlesque performer you will get a good show with a lot of variety.
